How I Never Pay Full Price for Makeup or Accessories

I’m not into sales associates.  It’s not them, it’s me.  I can spend hours chatting with a good sales associate, which is not only bad time management but also very expensive.  The last thing I need is to be in Sephora with a good sales associate carrying me around a store in the palm of their hand, showing me beautiful things.  I’m tempted enough on my own.  Also, the stores in SoHo can get mobbed and it makes for a very unpleasant shopping experience.  SO I do a lot of my shopping online.  But I don’t just shop online, I always do it through Ebates.

You’ve probably heard about Ebates and been skeptical.  I was too, for years, until the Sephora VIB sale this past year.  Like a freak, I was stalking Reddit trying to find out inside information about the upcoming sale and I realized a lot of people there actually use Ebates.  Not only that, but they were getting up to 12% back in cash on top of the sale.  I thought about all of the purchases I had made online at Sephora in my lifetime and felt like a complete fool for not being in on this!

One of my favorites things about Ebates is that it’s not a coupon code, which means you can apply discounts to your purchase.  You just begin your shopping trip by going to Ebates on your account and selecting the link of the store you want to visit.  For example, check out the Ray Bans I bought last month (below).  They’re originally $115, I got them for $88.50 each, then got $25 back from Ebates (this store has 16% cash back to celebrate an anniversary) making them $69 each.  They have a tons of stores too, like Amazon, Neiman Marcus, Expedia, Lulu’s, Forever 21.  There’s no minimum amount you have to earn in order to cash out, so even if you just use it once for a big purchase to get an extra discount, you’ll still get a check.  Just input your address and they mail the balance periodically.

Less than 10% off may not be a big deal to a lot of people, but for stores that rarely have sales like Sephora or Saks Fifth Avenue, it can be exciting to know you’re finally getting a discount.  This is isn’t sponsored and I’m not even adding a referral link, I just really hate paying full price for anything.  It’s also cool to get surprise checks in the mail.  Drinks on me!

All The Best,
