Another post about primers? Yes. We’re doing this. Because we all want our makeup to stay up and it helps to start with a smooth and even canvas. In my recent post about 5 High End Primers to Try (here) I decided to separate Laura Mercier’s primers into their own post. It’s important to note that silicone and water don’t mix well, so a silicone primer won’t allow water based foundation to penetrate and blend together properly. These primers are all water based so they can be used with any foundation. If don’t like the look or feel of silicone based primers, give these guys a try. I’ve been using these for a long time and they deserve a proper run down.
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer, $34. I love this because of how it feels on the face, which is like nothing. The silicone based primers that blur the look of pores also feel kind of heavy sometimes. This, however, feels weightless on the skin. It’s also water based, which means you can use it with water based foundations.
Laura Mercier Radiance Primer, $34. Like the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderflash that I mentioned in my original post about high end primers, this is great before makeup application or mixed with foundation. Its golden tint gives skin a natural luminosity underneath foundation that is fantastic. There’s no actual shimmer and it’s subtle so the skin really does look naturally luminous. This primer is beautiful for summer, especially on skin that’s feeling a little dull.
Laura Mercier Protect Primer, $34. Even on its own, this is a great product. It’s not white like the Hourglass Mineral Veil, it’s a peachy pink color that blends into the skin seamlessly. It’s a peachy pink color, too, so it will even out your skin tone if you want to skip foundation. The SPF 30 is a huge added bonus.
Have you tried any of these? What are your thoughts? For more information about primers check out my post about 5 High End Primers to Try (here) and 4 Drugstore Primers (here). Happy weekend, everyone!
All The Best,
